Financial Donations

2008 was a rough year financially for many of us, as oil prices sky-rocketed to never-seen levels, putting a strain on many. That reality, coupled with rising unemployment rates and the costs of all essentials going up, means that we have an environment where many of us are stretched to our financial limits. It’s especially during these difficult times that non-profits like us fill a void for those in distress, yet we must do so with limited resources. That is why we want to express our gratitude for all who have continued their support despite these turbulent economic times. 2009 is also turning into a difficult year as donations and gifts have dropped off at a time when we are seeing an increase in the number of children and youth that are taking part in the services available at Joyful Harvest.

Many of our families are really struggling to make ends meet. For those who either need both parents in the workforce or are single parent homes, our Afterschool Program has made a big difference. They know their children have a safe place to go and do not need to figure out how to pay for childcare they usually cannot afford. The healthy snacks we provide may be the only time some of our children will get fresh vegetables and fruit because of the expense of these items.

As always, please continue to keep the mission of Joyful Harvest in your prayers. With God’s help, we will have the resources to keep our doors open and have this vital community resource available to local children and their families.
