It’s not too late to register for free school supplies. Joyful Harvest has partnered with the United Way of York County to provide school supplies to kids in need. Only requirement is that you must be a Biddeford resident, stop by any morning Monday-Friday 9:00am to 12:30 pm to sign up. Please bring proof of residency along with proof of income. The staff and volunteers of Joyful Harvest are getting ready for another fantastic summer program! Our summer program this year will start June 29 and run until August 23, 2010. The program runs Monday-Friday from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, once again thanks to generous funding from the USDA we will be offering breakfast and lunch to youth 18 and younger. This summer we will offer Art Van, U Maine Extension Program cooking classes and much more! If you are interested in signing your child up for the program please call the office at 286-9105. All programming is offered free of charge! The tweens and teens at Joyful Harvest have worked all winter and spring with Allison Baird of Art Van. The work they have created is currently being shown over at the Heart Of Biddeford office at 205 Main Street, the office is open Monday-Friday 11 am to 3 pm. Stop over and check out their work! On Friday April 30, 2010, Joyful Harvest will be paricipating in the monthly Biddeford Art Walk that will be held at the North Dam Mill at 2 Main Street, Biddeford. The Art Walk runs from 5:00pm-8:00pm, we will be showcasing art work made by the kids who have participated in the Art Van Program. We are also hoping to bring more awareness to the work and mission of Joyful Harvest. Art Walk is free and features some talented artists, stop by and say hello! This year Joyful Harvest is partnering with Second Congregational Church and the Bon Appetite Meak program for our annual Kid’s Shopping Event. This year’s event will start with a free pancake breakfast , a visit from Santa and as always kid’s will be able to “shop” free of charge for family members. Due to the added activities, this year’s event is being held Saturday December 19, 9:00 am to 12:30 pm at Second Congregational Church at 19 Crescent Street in Biddeford. For those unable to attend on Saturday we will hold a second date on Monday December 21 from 2:30-5:00 pm at Joyful Harvest but due to the expected turnout on Saturday, the selection of items may not be as good, so join us December 19!
